Papazachos B.C.

B.C. Papazachos was born in Smocovo, Greece in 1930.
He studied Physics at the University of Athens and Geophysics at the Saint Louis University of USA.
He worked as a research seismologist (1955-1977) for the Geodynamic Institute of the National Observatory of Athens, as a Professor of Geophysics (1977-1998) at the Geophysical Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
He was appointed Chairman of the Scientific Council (1983-2003) of the Institute of Engineering Seismology and Earthquake Engineering.
He published more than 200 research papers in International Journals and 10 books in Geophysics, Seismology, Physics and Philosofy of Science.
He is married to Katerina Antoniadou and has two children (Costas and Angela) and two grandchildren (Hero and Basil).
